By ordinance the Service Safety Director has established the free “home and garage sale” days as the following:
There will be a Records Commission Meeting on Wednesday, March 23rd from at 2:00pm in the Council Chambers.
Due to the weather that’s coming in, Republic Services will be closed Thursday Feb. 3rd. 2022. We will update on delays and closings on a day-by-day basis, depending on the weather and road conditions. Thank you and be safe.
THURSDAY EVENING UPDATE: Republic Services will be closed Friday. They will work on Friday's routes on Saturday. Unfortunately, Thursday's route will have to be picked up on their normal day next week. There will be a meeting of the Records Commission on Wednesday, September 22nd at 2pm in the Council Chambers.

Applications due by Friday, July 23, 2021 at 4:30 PM to the Mayor’s Office. Civil Service Exam on Saturday, August 7, 2021. Republic Services has advised the city of Bellefontaine that the recycling collection truck is being repaired and will not be in operation again until Friday, May 21, 2021 at the earliest. The recycling will be picked up by a refuse collection truck in two separate routes to allow for the necessary separation between paper items and container items. Please leave your recycling bins at the curbside until collected. We are sorry for the situation and confusion during this time. Thank you for your considerations.
Section 717.04(e) to the City of Bellefontaine's Codified Ordinances state:
"Between Memorial Day and Labor Day of each summer, the Service-Safety Director shall designate four (4) successive Saturdays as home sale or yard sale Saturdays whereby the first two Saturdays shall be designated for home and yard sales north of Columbus Avenue and the second two successive Saturdays shall be designated as home or yard sales Saturdays south of Columbus Avenue and where said yard sales on said successive Saturdays shall be permitted without the payment of a fee for the home/yard sale permit as provided for in Section 717.04(a)." The four (4) successive Saturdays in 2021 will be the 4 Saturdays in the month of June. The first two Saturdays in June (June 5 & 12) will allow for free yard sales north of Columbus Avenue, and the next two successive Saturdays (June 19 & 26) will allow for free yard sales south of Columbus Avenue. |
