As you change your clocks one hour ahead, this weekend, we we want to remind you to also check the following:
1. Test your smoke alarm by pressing the "Test" button to ensure it sounds.
2. Check the date of manufacture on the back of your smoke alarm. If it's 8 - 10 years old, it's at the end of its lifespan and needs to be replaced.
3. Run your vacuum over the grill to remove any dust to eliminate potential false activations.
4. Remember that a "chirp" every 60 seconds is your unit telling you that the batteries are low and need to be changed.
5. A series of three beeps followed by short pauses is your unit telling you that it detects smoke and you need to get out of the house.
BFD wishes everyone a safe and happy Spring season!
