E. Lake is now back open.


Eastern Ave. will be closed between Organ St and Woodview Dr. LeVan's Excavating and the Bellefontaine Water Department will be working toward nearing completion of the water main replacement project on Summit Dr.


E. Lake Ave. will be closed between S. Main St and Learning LN, as the Bellefontaine Water Department works to repair a water main valve. The water will be turned off today to customers between 300 E Lake to 304 E Lake and 1128 Greenwood St. Once the water is back on, a boil advisory will be in place for those addresses.


E Lake Ave. is now back open.


E. Lake Ave. between S. Main Street and Greenwood Street will be closed today starting @ 8:00 AM, as the water department installs a new water valve.


Bellefontaine Municipal Courts will be closed from Wednesday, March 26th- Friday, March 28th for remodel.

Age 68/ Date of Birth: February 15, 1957
On the afternoon of March 18 (2025), at 4:38 p.m. dispatchers of the Bellefontaine Police Department received a "911" emergency call regarding a shooting that had occurred at 322 Clagg.
Upon the arrival of officers, they found a female victim of multiple gunshot wounds. That female was deceased. The scene was secured at that time and detectives worked to determine what had occurred leading up to the death.
Through their investigation, the husband of the victim was taken into custody. Kenton E. Quint, age 66, is being held in the Logan County Jail on criminal charges related to the death of his wife.
The investigation into this matter continues.
The Bellefontaine Fire Department and Emergency Medical Service as well as the Logan County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On the afternoon of March 18 (2025), shortly after 3pm Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to the area on the Bellefontaine Wastewater Treatment Plant on South Troy Road in reference to a bomb threat aboard a Bellefontaine City School bus. It was reported that a male student announced that he had a bomb on his person.
The bus was safely evacuated and the suspect, identified as Kehgan Basso (10/02/2010) was taken into custody. In cooperation with officials of the Bellefontaine City School District, the evacuated students were placed on a secondary bus and transported from the scene.
Out of a abundance of caution, the Columbus (Ohio) Bomb Squad responded and quickly determined that there was no active threat. Troy Road was closed for a short time to secure the scene during the investigation.
Kehgan Basso was transported to and lodged in the Central Ohio Youth Center in Marysville for criminal charges related to the incident.

In correlation to Severe Weather Awareness Week, tomorrow is Ohio's statewide tornado drill. Tornado sirens will be sounded at 9:50 am as part of the drill. Ohioans are encouraged to practice their safe sheltering plans at this time. For tips on how to come up with a plan and how keep yourself safe during severe weather events, visit www.weathersafety.ohio.gov


In conjunction with Ohio's 2025 severe weather awareness week, the City of Bellefontaine will be participating in the Ohio statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, March 19th at 9:50 a.m. Tornado sirens across Bellefontaine and the state will be activated at this time for several minutes. All Ohioans are encouraged to participate in the drill and practice their emergency sheltering plans.
Weekly normal testing of tornado sirens in Bellefontaine will resume on Friday, March 21st at noon.
