BPD dispatchers undergo on-going training and are Emergency Medical Dispatch certified meaning they are trained to respond to multiple emergency situations by asking specific questions and offering guidance to a caller who is in the midst of a medical emergency when time is critical and even before the arrival of fire or EMS services.

Today, we completed our biannual Emergency Vehicle Operations Course training; or (EVOC). This course covered principles of safe emergency vehicle operation, sections of the ORC concerning the operation of emergency vehicles, safe driving practices, responsibilities of an emergency vehicle driver, as well as a maneuverability course. (Yes, a few cones were harmed during the making of this film)

The Bellefontaine Water Department will need to turn the water off to safely and efficiently make repairs to a leaking water valve. Water will be turned off on 4/8/2025 at 8:00 AM for a few hours to make repairs. Once the water is back on, A boil advisory will be in effect for your area until samples are collected and tested. Results of samples are expected to be received and communicated by end of business on 4/9/2025.
PLEASE BOIL WATER FOR AT LEAST (5) MINUTES FOR ANY CONSUMPTION PURPOSES.

Title: Wastewater Maintenance Worker (Full-Time Position)
Department: Wastewater Department
Rate of Pay: $22.09 (Probationary)
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and repair sewer lines using specialized equipment (backhoe, sewer jet truck, etc.)
• Inspect and maintain lift stations, pumps, and other systems components.
• Perform general maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain records and prepare reports as needed.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks.
What We’re Looking For:
• Knowledge of sewer construction, maintenance, and repair
• Ability to operate motor vehicles, heavy equipment, and maintenance tools
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in varying conditions, including confined spaces and around chemicals
• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior experience in construction, maintenance, or sewer system work preferred
• Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License (must remain insurable)
