Boil Advisory Notice
Due to a loss of water pressure caused by a malfunctioning fire protection system at 225 Lincoln Street, a boil advisory is in effect for the following areas:
• 500–700 blocks of S. Detroit Street
• All of Maple Avenue
• 704 S. Main Street
• 624 S. Main Street
What this means:
All water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice, or washing dishes should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one (5) minute's, then allowed to cool before use.
Air in water lines:
If you experience air coming from your water fixtures, please go to the highest fixture in your home and allow it to run until the air stops and the water becomes clear and consistent.
Testing and updates:
Water samples will be collected on Monday, 2/23, and results are expected to be available on Tuesday, 2/24. This advisory will remain in effect until water quality testing confirms the system is safe.
We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding.
An update will be provided as soon as the boil advisory is lifted.

Republic Services has informed the City of Bellefontaine that their drivers are currently experiencing difficulty accessing trash cans and bags due to snow and other obstructions. In some cases, drivers have also been injured while attempting to reach blocked containers.
We kindly ask all residents to please ensure there is a clear and safe path to your trash cans and bags on your scheduled collection day. This includes removing snow, ice, or other obstacles so drivers can safely and efficiently provide service.
Your cooperation will help prevent injuries and allow Republic Services to complete collections more quickly and reliably for all residents.

This is not a reminder — this is a call to action.
Many sidewalks throughout our city remain covered with snow and ice, creating unsafe conditions for students walking to school and bus stops, as well as for other residents who rely on them each day. Property owners and residents are responsible for clearing the sidewalks adjacent to their property.
City Ordinance Requirements:
1406.04 SIDEWALKS AND DRIVEWAYS
All sidewalks, walkways, stairs, driveways, parking spaces, and similar areas shall be kept in a proper state of repair and maintained free from hazardous conditions.
1406.05 REMOVAL OF SNOW AND ICE FROM SIDEWALKS
Property owners, occupants, or persons having care of property abutting a sidewalk are required to remove snow within the first four hours after daylight following a snowfall. When sidewalks are covered with ice, they must be made safe and passable by removing the ice or applying sand, salt, or other suitable substances.
Please take action today and clear your sidewalks.
