Logan County residents will see several new and expanded transportation opportunities in 2026, according to the February edition of Crossroads, a mobility management newsletter serving the county.
Among the highlights is an expanded GoBus route, which now includes an added stop in Bellefontaine, improving regional travel access. GoBus provides intercity bus service throughout Ohio and beyond, with more information available at ridegobus.com.
The county also announced the launch of “The Loop at the Lake,” a free shuttle service for adults age 50 and older, beginning March 5, 2026. The service, a collaboration between Bridges Community Action and A Way Out Transportation, will offer scheduled stops at community markets, St. Vincent de Paul, the Russell’s Point Municipal Building, and other locations. Final schedules are expected soon.
Another free transportation option for older adults, BelleHop, continues to operate every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., providing no-cost rides to Kroger, Aldi, Walmart, and other stops. BelleHop is open to all riders age 50 and older and has no bag limit.
Community members are also invited to attend the next Transportation Advisory Committee meeting on February 23, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Job & Family Services in Bellefontaine. The committee brings together residents and local stakeholders to improve safe, accessible, and affordable transportation across Logan County.
In addition, local organizations are encouraged to apply for the 2026 AARP Community Challenge Grant, which funds projects such as crosswalks, benches, bike lanes, and public space improvements. Applications are due March 4, 2026, with grant recipients announced in June.
The newsletter also provides a comprehensive list of transportation resources, including taxis, senior services, medical transport, veterans services, and bus providers.
