Richard Kurtz, Council First Ward
Richard Kurtz has served as Council’s First Ward Representative since June 19th, 2018. He was appointed to the position after fellow Council member Zeb Wagner became President of Council. He was then elected to a full two-year term in November of 2019.
Richard grew up in Bellefontaine and graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1987 before attending Ohio State. After earning a degree in mathematics, he moved back to Bellefontaine and has taught math for over 20 years. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, golfing, reading, and grilling. |
Richard and his wife Julie have two sons: Nicholas attends Ohio State in Computer Science, and Nathaniel attends North Carolina State in Construction Engineering and Army ROTC.
