Mayor Adam Brannon was born in Richmond, Indiana on August 14, 1985 and lived much of his early life in various communities around Southwestern Ohio. Adam and his family eventually moved to Bellefontaine in August of 1993, Adam attended Northeastern Elementary, Bellefontaine Middle and Bellefontaine High Schools. While at BHS, was a member of the Track team his freshman year, and then became a part of the BHS Football team starting his sophomore and continuing through his senior year. He also joined the Swim Team his junior and senior years at BHS. During his senior year Adam was a part of BHS’s quiz bowl team which won a number of competitions as a part of the In-The-Know tournament sponsored by WOSU Channel 22. Adam graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 2003. From there, he went on to The University of Findlay from which he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a minor in Public Administration in May of 2007. During his college years he became a member of Theta Chi Fraternity, of which he currently serves as one of the alumni advisors for his chapter. Adam also was involved with Habitat for Humanity during college and has continued that involvement outside of college. During the fall semester of Adam’s senior year of college he had the opportunity to serve as a Legislative Intern for the National Volunteer Fire Council in Washington, D.C. That experience played a large role in what Adam accomplished following college. After graduation, Adam officially started his successful campaign for the position of Mayor of the City of Bellefontaine, Ohio. Mayor Brannon defeated Fmr. Mayor Robert Lentz and Independent candidate Tim Barnett in a very close race in November 2007. Because of his election, Mayor Brannon also holds a statewide title; he is the youngest Mayor currently in the State of Ohio.
Mayor Brannon currently lives at 305 E. Columbus Ave. in Bellefontaine with his mother, Carol and younger sister Emily who is a freshman at Wright State University in Fairborn. He also works as a teller at Kemba Financial Credit Union in Bellefontaine.
