Provide as much detail as possible about the incident or activity: the situation, location, time of day, suspects, and any related vehicle information.

Emergencies Requiring Immediate Police Assistance
Call 9-1-1 to:
Report a situation which requires a police officer at the scene (e.g. assaults, kidnapping, burglaries, domestic disputes, terroristic threats, violation of protection orders, biased crimes, parental kidnapping, motor vehicle theft, theft from person, auto accidents with injuries, etc.).
***Summon an ambulance for medical assistance.
***Report a fire.
***Report a crime in progress.
***Report suspicious, criminal activity in progress (e.g. alarms, shots fired, shouts for help, sounds of glass breaking, unfamiliar person carrying items from a house).
Vacation House Check
As a service to the citizens of the City of Bellefontaine, the Bellefontaine Police Department offers free vacation house checks. The Bellefontaine Police Department will periodically check the exterior of your home while you are away. This service helps to deter potential burglars and provides for additional security while your house is unoccupied.
This service is not recommended for citizens that have friends or family that will be at the residence regularly for such things yard work, caring for animals or using the amenities at the residence.
Residences with alarms systems currently in place will not be eligible for Vacation House Checks.
If you are interested and will be on vacation for at least one week, but not more than three weeks, you can sign-up for this service by picking up a Vacation House Check request form at the police department, and returning it at least three (3) days prior to your departure.
